How can natural materials be transformed into art objects? This exhibition explores the relationship between crafts, nature and innovation by highlighting the work of creators who give new life to local resources. Explore the world of wood, glass, natural fibres and many other materials ennobled by the skills of craftsmen across the regions of France.
An exhibition dedicated to local skills and materials
The Atelier des savoir-faire is presenting an exhibition showcasing craftsmanship and the transformation of local resources into original works of art. Take an immersive tour and discover how wood, glass, animal materials and minerals are shaped into unique creations.
Raw materials transformed by artists and craftspeople
This exhibition reveals how craftspeople, artists and students in training transform natural materials into artistic creations. From Jura wood carved into chessboards to glassmaking techniques from Lorraine, each work shows an approach where tradition and innovation meet.
Among the works on display, a chandelier made from Bresse chicken feathers, fish leather, Vosges stoneware sculptures and woven paintings bear witness to meticulous, inspired work. Other pieces are shaped by the action of time and water, illustrating the meeting of nature and know-how.
