l'Atelier des savoir-faire: "From inspiration to craft creation" exhibition

This edition offers an unprecedented look at the creative process of 15 craftsmen and women who are members of the Atelier des savoir-faire network.

The aim of the exhibition is to shed light on what goes on before a work of art is created. How is inspiration born? What ideas do craftspeople go through before turning a thought into a creation? Each participant will share his or her personal journey, revealing the triggering moments, decisive encounters and emotions
that forged their vocation.

Before the craftsman picks up his tools, the work already exists in his mind. This
exhibition helps us to understand the genesis of craft creations. The aim is to
to show that arts and crafts are as much about technique as they are about art.
Each creation tells a story, each object is the fruit of deep thought and passion.

Cabinet-makers, mosaicists, feather jewellery designers, wooden toy makers, stone-cutters, ceramists

variety of sources of inspiration.
