Technique, but also a lot of games: that's how you learn best...
Ski equipment: (not provided): flaking skis, poles, boots.
Personal equipment: sunglasses, sun cream, cross-country or sportswear, windproof jacket, anorak or polar fur, hat or headband, gloves adapted to the cold conditions of the moment, water bottle holder recommended, small backpack for the day outing.
