JACK LONDON PHOTOGRAPHER.
It's often forgotten that Jack London, the world-famous author of The Sea Wolf and Martin Eden, the man of a hundred lives, the fighter against social injustice, used photography as another way of writing. More than twelve thousand images are known to date, taken between 1900 and 1916, which gives an idea of the importance of this medium for the American writer. London calls these photographs, taken during reports for magazines and personal journeys, "human documents".
Opening: Saturday 25 January, 7.30pm, in the presence of Noël Mauberret, a specialist in the work of Jack London and editor of the Jack London Collection published by Phébus.
