With its 70 m of zip lines (ladders, monkey bridge and Nepalese bridge...), the Via Ferrata de la Roche au Dade guarantees 1 h 30 to 2 h of vertiginous sensations, culminating at 918 m above sea level in the Morézien basin.
There are three routes to choose from: fun, initial and an athletic variant for the more athletic:
- Initial or "classic" route: rated fairly difficult, this route takes you to the Roche au Dade lookout, the summit of the via ferrata.
- Athletic variant: classed as difficult, the vertical start is physical, and an ascending zip line requiring you to pull yourself along the second half of the route takes you back to the classic route (pulley on short lanyard compulsory for this route).
- Fun route: this route remains at the bottom of the via ferrata, with a horizontal ladder, a Nepalese bridge and a long footbridge leading to the final 70-metre zip line (optional). This route is suitable for children.
The via is freely accessible, weather permitting.
The site is forbidden to inexperienced people and to minors not accompanied by an experienced adult. Do not attempt the via ferrata in stormy weather or at night.
Free access or accompanied by professionals by appointment.
Minimum height recommended for access to the via ferrata: 1m30
Equipment hire: full set of equipment available for hire from the tourist office (except Saturdays and Sundays out of season) or from the Vélo Dime bike hire shop (open 7 days a week from May to October).
